Our Story

IN THE 1970s; Old Leith street was the Edinburgh Mecca for tailors, cloths shops, and menswear – Edinburgh’s answer to Savile Row.

Jackson the tailor was one of these tailors, exactly where you are sitting now, catering to the cosmopolitan people of Edinburgh, producing suave, fashionable, and sharp suits.

This is our aim with Jackson the Tailor – the bar incarnation; to create a suave and comfortable space to enjoy carefully crafted cocktails and drinks. Curated with the same skill, care and craftmanship as the suits of yesteryear.

We believe that wearing a beautifully made suit is an experience, and so is consuming a beautifully made drink. And that is what we’re all about.

Nestled near the top of Princes Street and just minutes' walk from Waverley Station, with private booths and intimate tables, Jackson's is the perfect place to meet and catch up over a refreshing drink.

Our interior is a throwback to the early 20th century, when Old Leith Street was the centre of Edinburgh's tailoring industry. Where tailors once lovingly made handcrafted suits, we now pour drinks imbued with the same skill, care and craftsmanship.

Just like a beautifully made suit, every element of our bar has been carefully designed to make your experience as comfortable and pleasurable as possible. The past and present are united in our classic-inspired aesthetics and contemporary drinks list.

Both our drinks and food menus have been put together with the utmost care and attention to detail. Nothing here comes off the peg — everything is made to measure, to ensure that you enjoy as pleasurable an experience as possible.

All our drinks are made in accordance with precise measurements to deliver a lasting experience. And if there's something you fancy that's not on our menu, our mixologists will be only too happy to create something bespoke just for you.
